... A Criminal Wiretapping? |
Victoria Riel: LIAR! |

Hear Vicky Riel Lying in Court! |

...Or just plain olde reporting on Boston Common?
Manzelli holds his mic at rest while taking a picture. No recording was presented in evidence. Harer seized Freeman's cassettes, ...and testified that he didn't listen to any of them. Wonder Why? "Standing about eighteen feet from Harer and Riel. I took one snapshot of the scene. It included Harer and Riel. The wide-shot photo also included a kiosk, and the Suffolk University Law School. |
Victoria Riel knows that a Wiretapping conviction was handed down in Boston Municipal Court against Jeffrey Manzelli, a freelance reporter who specializes in issues of dissent. She knows this was the result of MBTA Police Lies, including her own. Victoria Riel knows. She knows this was about a photograph, and that Harer approached the reporter, not the other way round. She knows the reporter was polite and kept a respectful distance. She knows that Harer started the trouble, and that he fibbed under oath, (perjury) concocting a story that Manzelli was, at once, aggressive and sneaky. Manzelli had no prior record, and has reported from protests in many cities for radio for many years. Wiretapping? Why was wiretapping on the Harer's mind? Perhaps because The MBTA Police were wiretapping their own employees. |

Interesting Facts:An Aide to Governor Romney was on the jury. (from court recordings, of empanelment process, sidebar.) Mr. Manzelli has received enthusiastic support from three Boston City Councillors, one of whom refered to it as "a First Amendment issue." Transit Police Chief Joe Carter refused do discuss the case when a City Councillor called him about it. Carter has taken criticism for allegations of extravagant travelling at the public's expense while the MBTA cries poor, sells off properties, and prepares to raise rates yet again. Another Juror said Manzelli "Just doesn't look right" and had the word "fear" written on his hand. (from court records) Harer took, without cause, all the Reporter's trade tools, unrelated even to his false allegations. Victoria Riel testified that she retrieved a recorder with a wire attached...but when asked what was on the wire, she just couldn't seem to say the word 'microphone.' (sequestered witnesses know little of what's already been said at trial. They are sort of "shooting in the dark.") A BMC Judge ordered the reporter's equipment returned because the cops had no business holding it. Manzelli's photography gear had nothing to do with even the bogus charges! This harmed a professional shoot he did for the Jewish Fund for Justice. Former Chief of MBTA Police Jack O'Donovan was a guest at the Manzelli home. O'Donvan was quickly dismissed as Chief. The mic Manzelli had in his hand at the false arrest once belonged to Governor Mike Dukakis. The Commonwealth's Wiretapping law has been redefined since 9/11 to severely punish those who would hold Police accountable for illegal behaviour. (but not in Tennessee, where Feds prosecuted crooked cops with a secret recording made by the wife of a man they tortured.) Prosecution repeatedly offended the rules of trial, prompting numerous sustained objections from Defense, who behaved themselves. Persecutor Bradley repeatedly asked leading questions. resulting objections were sustained. Bradley's a cheater. He knows juries remember the results of his didrty tricks and forget or don't understand the objections happen because he cheats. An Assistant D.A. knows damned well what a leading question is, and that it is forbidden in this context. Judge Forde noted how "very unusual" it was that so many people in the courtroom knew one-another. Usually nobody knows anybody, she said.

The Prosecution's story paints Manzelli as having hidden a microphone in his jacket and bothering Harer and Riel with paparazzo-like aggressive photography. Prosecution implied Manzelli wanted to provoke the Transit Police Officers into saying something "incriminating." Sound a little far-fetched? Manzelli, who publishes under the pseudonym "FreemanZ" is a nationally published photographer and the co-founder of a parenting magazine. He also produces several hours of radio material per month. He was on assignment, recording for a Boston area radio station, microphone in hand, when he met Harer and Riel.
This photo sent Harer into a tailspin - (Canon F1 (n) 24mm f2.8 lense, Fujicolor-100) All those bullets in his holster, and a camera scares him. To the left is the State House, where Manzelli has recorded severalevents for radio broadcast and a recent broadcast news segment. Just behind the kiosk is the Paulist Center, (where he recorded Noam Chomsky.) To the right is Suffolk Law, where Manzelli recorded and videoed Senator John Conyers, Marty Meehan and Michael Avery. Harer's bully-attack happened during a peace rally right here on the Boston Common. These are locations where Mr. Manzelli records for WZBC, WMBR, WMFO, and other radio stations, as well as shooting video for CCTV Cambridge and other outlets. This harrassment and the subsequent MBTA Police Crimes are direct attacks on Constitutionally Protected reporting activities. Perhaps Harer doesn't like Manzelli's editorial choices. If people aren't free to express their views on Boston Common, on the Freedom Trail, maybe Harer would simply want to stop them from having their say anywhere, say, on a radio program. And how best to do that then by shutting down one of Boston's most prolific producers on issues of dissent? (Manzelli, a cofounder of a family magazine, has covered events as divergent as a pro Vietnam War rally and a vigil for Cindy Sheehan.) Vicky Riel knows that despite Harer's lies (lies that the reporter took a bunch of close photo's that allegedly upset him,) that this one (above) is the closest shot taken before Harer popped off like a bully in a steroid-rage. Despite the seizure of all the reporters property, not one photo backed up Harer's lies. Not one. No physical evidence was presented at trial. All the accusations are Harer's angry fantasies. "You hear about this sort of crime. You read about it, and you see it in Hollywood movies. You know it exists, but when it happens to you, it changes you inside. You get intensely angry, and that anger works against you...and those who play these 'games' with peoples' lives, ...they love that." Said Manzelli, in a recent interview, in which he reminded us that there are bigger stakes in the frame-up game. And Mr. "Christian" Romney wants the Death Penalty"What's so frightening about this isn't just the fact that cops can do this to you, using their badge to commit a pointless crime, like a frameup of a small-time Reporter. What's truly scary is just how easy it is. Now I know these creeps can commit crimes and blame others, and bad cops, like Harer, ...they make a game out of wrecking people's lives. Breaking up families...even seeking the death penalty." "Harer pulled a power trip from the get-go, and when I responded to his bizarre misbehaviour as a Reporter properly should, by asking him questions, he decied to show me he's the boss. Had I shrunk back in the face of his initial undeserved (and illegal) aggression, I wouldn't have been dragged through all this. His entire case is based on lies, and the only crimes committed that day...were his." "Also criminal is Harer's perjury that I threw a cassette up the stairs that knocked a woman to her knees. (This was not in Harer's affidavit, but a last-minute 'embellishment.' Nor did Riel state this at trial, even when probed.) If I threw anything, it was to protect my property from the berzerker traincop, Harer. This was truly bizarre. I've done this job for many years, working beside police, even in scary situations like bomb scares and tear gas attacks, and nothing like this has ever happened, and I put the blame 90% on Brian Harer. The other 10%, I place on the other liar, the one who was 'just covering her buddie's butt' ...Officer Victoria Riel.
